T20 World Cup 2024: India win toss, opt to bat first against Afghanistan

India elected to bat first against Afghanistan after winning the toss ahead of one of the crucial battles for T20 World Cup 2024’s semi-final berth which is underway at Bridgetown’s Kensington Oval, Barbados.

Both teams made one change. India brought in Kuldeep Yadav over Mohammad Siraj while Hazratullah Zazai came in for Karim Janat for Rashid Khan’s side.

India won three out of four their group matches in T20 World Cup. They defeated Ireland, Pakistan and the United States in New York while their last match of the group against Canada was washed out in Florida.

On the other hand, Afghanistan started their tournament with a blast by defeating Uganda with 125 runs and they recorded three consecutive wins before suffering a heavy 104-run loss against West Indies in their last match of the tournament.

Australia and Bangladesh are the other two teams in Group 1 of the Super 8 and they will take on each other in Antigua.
